Volunteer

For over 20 years, Saint Louis BicycleWORKS has been an all-volunteer organization. Everything we have accomplished we owe to the good citizens who have donated their time to help us achieve our mission. We have been steadily building momentum which means there is a lot yet to be done.

If you have time to give, we can use your help!

Your participation in BicycleWORKS is guaranteed to be karma enhancing. You will be making the world a better place and have fun in the process.

Volunteer Orientation Nights occur the first Tuesday of every month at 7:00PM.

Currently We Need:

Educational Guru – Our kid’s class is the core of our existence and we are looking to take it to a higher level next year. Although we are proud of what we have accomplished, we know we can do more. We are looking for someone with educational experience to help us rewrite our curriculum in order to give our kid’s the most enriching experience we can offer them.

Earn-A-Bike Teachers – We will need teachers to implement our new curriculum in 2010. No bike mechanic experience is needed! We teach you what you need to know in a one hour orientation. The goal is to give the kids an appreciation for bicycles and riding safety, but also to give them a place to practice teamwork, people skills, and responsibility.

Scheduler/Organizer – If you want to help but our hours do not overlap with yours, we can use someone to schedule and organize volunteers and the kid’s classes. You will be maintaining a database and contacting parents and teachers.

Bike Mechanics – All levels of bicycle repair help is needed, from helping neighborhood kids change an inner tube, to stripping bikes for parts, to complete bike overhauls. You will be amazed with what you learn.
